he Chairperson of CTSAMVM Maj. Gen. Teshome Ayana met today with the European Union’s Ambassador to South Sudan H.E. Pelle Enarsson at the EU Embassy in Juba.
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the current security situation across various regions of South Sudan, noting the persistent violations of the 2018 revitalized peace agreement. Maj. Gen. Teshome provided a detailed briefing on ongoing monitoring and verification activities, highlighting challenges facing CTSAMVM operations.
Ambassador Enarsson reaffirmed EU’s continued support for CTSAMVM’s mandate, emphasizing the need for continued monitoring and accountability for ceasefire breaches. Both parties agreed on the urgency of de-escalating clashes, particularly in areas where recent tensions have threatened stability to the permanent ceasefire agreement.
