Maj. Gen. Dr. Hailu Endashaw, Chairperson of CTSAMVM, met with H.E. Anita Kiki Gbeho, Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and Head of UNMISS, to discuss the security situation in South Sudan, implementation of the Permanent Ceasefire, and CTSAMVM’s monitoring and verification activities.
The Chairperson emphasized the need for all parties to respect the ceasefire, exercise restraint, build trust, and engage in inclusive dialogue to sustain peace and prevent renewed conflict. He also called for continued international support to strengthen CTSAMVM’s mandate and operational capacity.
H.E. Gbeho reaffirmed UNMISS’s recognition of CTSAMVM’s vital role in promoting accountability, transparency, and stability. She reiterated the mission’s support for the peace process and the Mechanism’s work in South Sudan.
