Pictured at the Embassy of Kenya in Juba today is a courtesy call by the CTSAMVM leadership to His Excellency Ambassador Jeremy Ndola, Kenya’s ambassador to South Sudan.
The purpose of the courtesy visit was to introduce the incoming Chairperson of CTSAMVM, Maj. Gen. Dr. Hailu Atomsa and Deputy Chairperson Maj Gen. Mohamed Elsheikh, as well as brief on the mechanism’s operational activities and challenges it faces.
The outgoing Chairperson Maj. Gen. Teshome Anagawe expressed gratitude to the Government of Kenya for the continued assistance rendered to CTSAMVM, particularly for providing technical expertise and personnel to support the mechanism in fulfilling its mandate.
Ambassador Ndola commended CTSAMVM’s role in monitoring, verifying and reporting on South Sudan’s peace process. He reiterated Kenya’s commitment to supporting the mechanism’s work, both in its capacity as an IGAD Member State and as a guarantor of the R-ARCSS.
