CTSAMVM Chairperson Maj. Gen. Dr. Hailu Edashaw and Deputy Chairperson Maj. Gen. Mohamed Elsheikh met with the Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) of the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF), Gen. Santino Deng Wol Chok, at Bilpham.
The engagement provided an opportunity to discuss matters related to reinforcing adherence to the Permanent Ceasefire, supporting the unification and redeployment of forces, and promoting dialogue and confidence amongst the Signatory Parties to the Peace Agreement.
The meeting also brought to attention the importance of continued cooperation and coordination between CTSAMVM and the SSPDF in support of the peace monitoring process, including unhindered access for MVTs.
Gen. Santino Deng acknowledged the need for continued dialogue, stating that his engagements across the country are aimed at unity and reconciliation of the Parties in support of peace, security, and stability in South Sudan and the region.
