A delegation from CTSAMVM, comprising the outgoing Chairperson, the incoming Chairperson, and the Deputy Chairperson, paid a courtesy visit to the Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia to South Sudan, H.E. Delil Kedir Bushra, at the Ethiopian Embassy in Juba.
Discussions focused on the current security situation, CTSAMVM operations, strengthening diplomatic cooperation, and enhancing collaboration in support of the implementation of the R-ARCSS.
Ambassador Bushra commended the outgoing CTSAMVM Chairperson, Maj. Gen. Teshome, for his leadership and dedicated service in advancing the mechanism’s mandate and contributing to South Sudan’s peace process.
“The success of CTSAMVM impacts peace and security in South Sudan, which in turn impacts regional stability,” Ambassador Bushra said, reaffirming Ethiopia’s continued commitment to peace and security in the region.
Maj. Gen. Dr. Atomsa expressed his appreciation for the Ambassador’s warm reception and reaffirmed his commitment to building on the progress achieved by his predecessor. He highlighted the importance of sustained engagement with regional partners in supporting CTSAMVM’s mandate to monitor and verify compliance with the PCTSA.
