CTSAMVM officials meeting with the newly appointed Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) of the South Sudan People’s Defence Forces (SSPDF), General Dau Aturjong Nyuol, at the SSPDF headquarters in Juba.

The discussions focused on critical benchmarks requiring urgent attention, including the deployment of the Necessary Unified Forces (NUF) and the commencement of Phase II joint training—key components of the Revitalized Peace Agreement. Other persistent CTSAMVM operational challenges, including bureaucratic delays, denial of flight clearances, restricted access to key areas, and limited security assurances, all of which hinder effective ceasefire monitoring and reporting, were raised.

General Nyuol expressed his commitment to addressing these challenges and advancing transitional security arrangements.
