Ambassador Ismail Wais, IGAD Special Envoy to South Sudan, and Major General Yitayal Gelaw Bitew, Chairperson of CTSAMVM, briefed non-resident ambassadors to South Sudan in Addis Ababa on the latest developments in the Revitalized Peace Agreement (R-ARCSS).
The discussion centered on the Permanent Ceasefire & Transitional Security Arrangements (PCTSA), with calls for enhanced international engagement with the Transitional Government of National Unity (TGoNU) to bolster political will, uphold the Roadmap, and accelerate security reforms.
The diplomats commended IGAD and CTSAMVM for their sustained efforts in advancing the peace process. The meeting also introduced Major General Teshome Anagaw Ayana, the incoming Chairperson of the CTSAMVM, reaffirming the commitment to impartial oversight and durable peace in South Sudan.
