DSRSGP of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) visits CTSAMVM

The Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Political Affairs (DSRSGP) of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), Mr. Guang Cong, visited the CTSAMVM office in Juba today.

Discussions centred on the current security situation across South Sudan, emphasizing the need for the signatory Parties to the R-ARCSS and the ACoH to recommit themselves to the peace process, both in letter and in spirit.

Mr. Cong reiterated UNMISS’s steadfast support for CTSAMVM’s mandate, particularly in monitoring and investigating alleged ceasefire violations. He also commended CTSAMVM’s role in fostering accountability and transparency through its reports, among the signatory Parties to the revitalised peace agreement, South Sudanese communities, the international community, and other stakeholders.

This visit underscores the ongoing collaboration between UNMISS and CTSAMVM. Both organizations work to promote peace, monitor security arrangements, and ensure that the peace agreement is implemented across South Sudan.
