30 May – The CTSAMVM Chairperson, Maj. Gen. Yitayal Gelaw met with H.E. Ambassador Olivia Leslie of Ireland to Ethiopia and South Sudan in Addis Ababa for a discussion on the fragile security situation in South Sudan, the continued implementation of the ceasefire agreement, and deepening collaboration and international support for the peace process.
Maj. Gen. Yitayal expressed appreciation for Ireland’s longstanding support and stressed the importance of sustained international engagement to achieve peace in South Sudan.
Ambassador Leslie reaffirmed Ireland’s commitment to backing CTSAMVM’s mandate and emphasized Ireland’s ongoing support for inclusive peace processes and multilateral efforts in the region.
