On 20 May 2024 Representatives from the Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring and Verification Mechanism (CTSAMVM) visited the Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (RJMEC) to introduce the incoming chairperson and to seek enhanced collaboration and support.
The visit marked the official introduction of CTSAMVM’s incoming chairperson, Maj. Gen. Yitayal Gelaw Bitew to the RJMEC chairperson Maj. Gen. Charles Tai Gituai.
The visit also underscored the shared commitment of CTSAMVM and RJMEC to a unified approach to supporting the peace process in South Sudan. Both organizations reiterated their dedication to working closely together to uphold the ceasefire agreement and foster a stable and peaceful environment.
