April 27, 2023, Juba–South Sudan: The Senior Deployment Advisor, Ms. Anne Gunn Sunde and the Project Manager, Mr. Frank Johansen from NORCAP on Wednesday paid a visit to CTSAMVM to be briefed on the operations of the mechanism.
The two were briefed on the mandate of CTSAMVM, operational activities and challenges, the progress of the implementation of the peace agreement (R-ARCSS), and the current security situation within CTSAMVM Areas of Responsibility.
They also met the CTSAMVM Chairperson on the sideline of their visit to discuss the potential future needs of the mechanism in addition to meeting the line managers deployed by NORCAP to CTSAMVM.
CTSAMVM continues to play a critical role in the peace process and continues to monitor and verify compliance and reporting on the progress of the implementation of Chapter 2 of the revitalized peace agreement in South Sudan.
CTSAMVM Chairperson, Lt Gen Asrat Denero on behalf of CTSAMVM expressed gratitude to the Norwegian government, for their in-kind support to the mechanism.
He further said that despite the challenges CTSAMVM is facing, the mechanism has continued to implement its mandate due to support from donors.
