About CTSAMVM
The Ceasefire & Transitional Security Arrangements Monitoring & Verification Mechanism (CTSAMVM) is an IGAD led multinational mechanism that monitors, verifies, and reports on compliance of the signatory Parties to Chapter 2 of the Agreement on Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS) signed in 2018 and the 2017 Agreement on Cessation of Hostilities.
CTSAMVM has 6 Monitoring and Verification Teams (MVTs) and 3 Sectors which operate across South Sudan. The MVTs patrol their areas of responsibility and gather information on potential violations to the Permanent Ceasefire and Transitional Security Arrangements (PCTSA), which they immediately report to the CTSAMVM headquarters in Juba.
Reports compiled by CTSAMVM based on verified information is submitted to the Reconstituted Monitoring and Evaluation Commission (RJMEC) and IGAD Council of Ministers for further action.
