(05/02/2024-Juba-South Sudan)-A Swiss delegation led by Ambassador Sylvian Astier, Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa and Ms. Patrizia Palmiero, Head of the Peace Africa Section of the Peace And Human Rights Division paid a courtesy call on the Chairperson of CTSAMVM Maj Gen Hailu Gonfa Eddosa on Monday at the JTC office.

The delegation was briefed on the operations of CTSAMVM, achievements and impacts the mechanism has made since its establishment in South Sudan.

They were also briefed on the deployment on the Necessary Unified forces and strategies CTSAMVM is taking to monitor the upcoming general elections in South Sudan.

While addressing the delegation Maj Gen Hailu Gonfa thanked the Swiss government for their continued support to the mechanism which has been vital, especially at a time when CTSAMVM is facing financial challenges.

The Swiss delegation appreciated the work done by the mechanism and said that it is critical in ensuring that the peace process is implemented fully.
