MVT Torit met with local civil society representatives in Torit town on 27 July. MVTs regularly meet with civil society groups in their areas of responsibility.

MVT Juba visited Gudele police station on 3 August to discuss the local security situation. MVTs meet regularly with local officials in order to monitor, verify and report on implementation of Chapter 2 of the Peace Agreement.

CTSAMVM welcomed 13 new International Observers in August. The observers – from Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda – were welcomed by CTSAMVM Chairman Maj. Gen. Teshome Gemechu Aderie at a ceremony to mark the end of their induction training in Juba on 12 August.
